Support Resort was founded in 2003 by a small team of Australian software developers and system administrators who were inspired to build an IT outsourcing service in India after realizing the potential for such a service to provide extreme value to international customers while also providing opportunities and prosperity to people in India.
Before deciding where to establish our operations, our founders explored locations across India, searching for the one that would enable us to deliver the most impressive value to our clients. Our founders are hard-core IT people but they are also very customer centric and set a high bar for customer service standards, so they were looking for a location that offered a deep pool of qualified IT professionals who had both heavy technical skills and strong English communication with a client focus. This search led our founders to Kerala – a coconut-palm-laden state in southern India with an exceptional talent pool, relatively low costs and robust facilities (you can read more about why we chose Kerala here).
Our Australian founders joined forces with a local team in Kerala, and our first office was established in the city of Kochi in 2003. We were one of the first companies to commence operations at Infopark Kochi – a state-of-the-art information technology park which is now inhabited by many leading brands.
Following the launch of the Support Resort website in late 2003, we grew quickly. Our award-winning early growth led to expansion into multiple cities in southern India and we diversified our web development and system administration services to meet demand across the technology spectrum.
In 2007, we welcomed our team in the Philippines to our company family to enhance our capacity to provide outsourced virtual assistant and customer service solutions – including phone support – to our customers. After considering several locations in the Philippines, our founders were particularly impressed with the quality of talent and facilities available in Cebu City in the central Philippines, so chose to set up operations there. Initially based in Cebu Business Park, the company expanded quickly, leading to it relocating in 2010 to larger purpose-built premises at Cebu’s leading information technology park.
